About Turning Pages Foundation

We empower children and communities by promoting literacy, creating lasting change and brighter futures through education and book access.

Who we are

The Turning Pages Foundation, an organization with a strong literacy nonprofit mission, is committed to improving global literacy and advocating for the transformative power of reading. Rooted in our history of education foundation, we focus on empowering children and communities through targeted literacy programs and nonprofit literacy advocacy. Our efforts are aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 4, striving to ensure inclusive and equitable education for all while offering critical support for education programs in areas of greatest need.

While countries like the UK enjoy high literacy rates, many others face significant challenges. Nations such as Niger, Guinea, and South Sudan still have large populations that cannot read or write. We also prioritise countries like Malawi, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, where improving literacy in the community is essential. As a community-based education charity, we provide the tools, books, and skills needed to empower individuals and help them build brighter futures through the power of literacy.

How We Help: Our Initiatives

At Turning Pages Foundation, a committed literacy support organization, we focus on genuinely impacting literacy, education, and equity. Our mission to improve literacy aims to create sustainable change by addressing educational needs both in the UK and globally. One of our core initiatives is the Feed and Read campaign in North London, which provides books and meals at a local soup kitchen and fosters nourishment and learning. We also support UK schools by revitalising libraries and providing essential resources like dictionaries and thesauruses.

Internationally, we are building a library in Lahore, Pakistan, to give underprivileged children access to books and learning. Additionally, we contributed to rebuilding Samir Mansour’s Bookshop in Gaza, which was destroyed during the conflict, supporting displaced children. Led by our dedicated education charity team and backed by a nonprofit history of improving education, we are committed to advancing literacy and education for a brighter future.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build and maintain libraries, promote the importance of reading, and ensure education is accessible to everyone. We work to empower individuals and communities through access to books and learning opportunities for a brighter future.

What is the Turning Pages Foundation?

Turning Pages Foundation is a social enterprise on a mission to spark a lifelong passion for reading in underserved children. We focus on creating lasting change by promoting a “Whole School Reading Culture” that transforms schools from the ground up.

Our mission is to inspire strong, joyful reading habits in children, empowering them to become independent learners. We aim to improve educational outcomes and enhance children’s overall well-being by fostering a love of reading.

We take a holistic approach, impacting every part of a child’s school life. From providing hand-picked books to hosting engaging reading sessions, we build a school culture where reading is celebrated and nurtured in every classroom.

Our programs are designed for underserved children who lack access to quality books and opportunities to develop essential reading habits. We bring the joy of reading to those who need it most.

You can make a difference by donating, volunteering, or partnering with us. Your support helps us purchase books, train teachers, and organize impactful reading events that change lives.
